SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – The Shepherd University men's soccer team (2-0-1) remained unbeaten with a 2-1 win over Holy Family (1-2-1) at Shepherd on Saturday.
Holy Family took a 1-0 lead into the break when Miguel Graneda scored on a pass from Diego Palomera Herrera at the 12:09 mark.
Shepherd tied the game when junior midfielder
Drey Plummer (Joppatown, Md./Concordia Prep) scored on a pass from sophomore defender/midfielder
Anthony Nzuzi (Frederick, Md./Thomas Johnson) at the 58:02 mark.
Junior forward
Harry Booth (Dubai, United Arab Emirates/Gems Wellington Silicon Oasis/St. Bonaventure) tallied the game-winner minutes later on an assist from Nzuzi.
Junior goalkeeper
Aidan Houck (Ellicott City, Md./Marriotts Ridge) did not record a save for the Rams. Bruno Mestres posted a pair of saves for the Tigers.
Each team had nine shots, with Shepherd holding a 5-1 edge in shots on goal. Holy Family had a 4-1 advantage in corner kicks.
The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they host Millersville for a 3:30 p.m. match.
