2017: Appeared and started in all 11 games ... garnered second team All-MEC honors as he recorded 44 total tackles (34 solo) with 11.0 tackles-for-loss (-49 yards) and 6.5 sacks (-36 yards) ... added a pair of pass breakups, a forced fumble, a blocked kick and an interception.

2016: Did not participate.

2015: Appeared in 14 games with six starts ... Recorded 32 total tackles (19 solo) with 6.0 tackles-for-loss (-28 yards) and 3.0 sacks (-17 yards) ... added a pair of forced fumbles and one blocked kick.

Prior to Shepherd: A 2012 graduate of Archbishop Carroll High School ... garnered Washington Post All-Met honors as a tight end ... selected to play in Chesapeake Bowl all-star game .. a transfer from UConn where he played in 2012 and 2013.

Personal: His sister, Jasmyn, ran track at Eastern Kentucky.
