When and how long can I practice with my coach?
Shepherd University and the NCAA believe in a life of balance between academics and athletics. To maintain this balance, we ask that our student-athletes be aware of the rules regulating '
Countable
Athletically
Related
Activities'.

eight hours of CARA with their student-athletes. The following are common examples of activities that can be performed during these eight hours:

- Watching Video
- Discussing technical or tactical strategy
During season

Role of Student-Athlete
Each student-athlete can view how many hours per week their team is practicing by signing into their Front Rush account. Once logged in, click on the calendar link. This will show all activities reported for CARA and other activities not considered 'athletically related'. Each week, one student-athlete per team will receive an alert in their Shepherd University email account that will ask for confirmation of the week's activities. If questions or concerns arise, please contact the compliance office at 304-876-5404.
