2014: Redshirted.

Prior to Shepherd: A 2013 graduate of Patuxent High School where he played baseball for Keith Powell...a three-year letterwinner in baseball... a member of two regional champion teams and the 2012 state semifinalist squad... posted a 7-0 mark on the mound as a senior... had 54 strikeouts in 45 innings.

Personal: The son of Paul and Carol Castro... his older brother, Daniel, played baseball for the Rams.
