Prior to Shepherd: A 2025 graduate of Hedgesville High School where he played baseball for Eric Grove ... lettered in baseball and basketball ... garnered first team All-EPAC and second team All-State honors in 2024 ... added All-Area Team,  first team All-EPAC, and honorable mention All-State accolades in 2025 ... batted .384 with 10 doubles, three triples, and 15 stolen bases as a junior ... batted .349 with five doubles, a triple, and 16 stolen bases as a senior.

Personal: The son of Stacy '05 and Chad Pence '05 ... his father, Chad, played football at Shepherd (2000-04) ... majoring in business.
