2019: Appeared in 39 games with 28 starts ... batted .304 with 31 hits in 102 at-bats ... drove in 26 runs and scored 22 ... added six doubles and eight home runs ... was 2-of-3 in stolen bases ... posted a 1.000 fielding percentage in 41 chances.

2018: Appeared and started in 55 games ... gained first team All-MEC honors as he batted .347 with 75 hits in 216 at-bats ... drove in 42 runs and scored a team-best 66 ... added 14 doubles while topping the team with six triples and 15 home runs ... was 19-of-21 in stolen bases .. posted a .991 fielding percentage in 133 chances ... garnered first team ABCA/Rawlings All-Region honors, while gaining second team NCBWA and D2CCA All-Region accolades ... a two-time MEC Player of the Week selection.

Prior to Shepherd: A 2015 graduate of Osbourn Park High School where he played baseball for Jack Ferrick ... lettered in baseball, football and basketball ... garnered All-Conference, All-Region, All-State, and All-Met honors ... also gained All-Conference honors in football ... previously played baseball at Harford Community College and Virginia Commonwealth University.

Personal: The son of Steve and Elaine Atkinson ...  majoring in health promotion and exercise science.
