2021: Appeared in 27 games with 25 starts ... batted .280 with 21 hits in 75 at-bats ... scored 14 runs and drove in 14 ... added five doubles, a triple, and a pair of home runs ... drew 12 walks and was hit-by-pitch six times ... was 10-of-10 in stolen bases ... posted a .914 fielding percentage in 35 chances.

2020: Appeared in 14 games with 11 starts ... batted .341 with 14 hits in 41 at-bats ... scored 16 runs and drove in six ... had four doubles ... drew 10 walks and was hit-by-pitch once ... was 3-of-3 in stolen bases ... posted a 1.000 fielding percentage in 12 chances.

2019: Did not see any action.

Prior to Shepherd: A 2018 graduate of Cabell Midland High School where he played baseball for Tracy Brumfield ...  gained second team All-State honors in 2017 ... garnered second team All-MSAC and honorable mention All-State honors in 2018 ... batted  .333 with a  .423 OBP, 29 hits, and 24 RBI as a senior.

Personal: The son of Jennie and Timothy Holmes ... majoring in biology ... his uncle, Lee May, played baseball at  West Virginia State ... his father, Tim Holmes, played football at Kentucky ... his mother, Jennie Holmes, played basketball at OVU ... his grandfather, Rodney May, played baseball at Marshall.
