Prior to Shepherd: A graduate of Loudoun Valley High School where he played football for David Bishop ... lettered in football and wrestling ... gained Honor Roll recognition ... a two-time first team All-District and  All-Region linebacker ... garnered second team All-State accolades as a senior ... recorded 130 tackles (71 solo, 59 assist), 10 tackles-for-loss,  four forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, three sacks, and an interception for a touchdown ...  rushed 24 times for 149 yards and three scores on offense.

Personal: The son of Johnna and Chris Loftis ... majoring in computer and informational sciences ... his father, Chris Loftis played football at Bethany College (1996-2000) ... his grandfather, Lee Loftis,
played football at Austin Peay (1965).
