Braden Thomson enters his second year as a graduate assistant on the Shepherd staff. Thomson is the running backs/tight ends/ fullbacks coach. He coached the linebackers in 2021.
Ram linebacker Chrys Lane garnered first team All-PSAC East honors in 2021 as he topped the team in tackles with 102.
Prior to coming to Shepherd, Thomson worked as an offensive quality control assistant with the University of Rhode Island football program.He assisted with recruiting, film cut ups, scouting reports and the scout team.
He also had a stint as a recruiting assistant at Wake Forest University. He worked with the defensive staff and assisted with the safeties and rovers.
Thomson played four years as an outside linebacker and also served as a student assistant coach at Bridgewater College from 2016-20. He was a member of the ODAC Champion team in 2019. He graduated from Bridgewater in 2020 with a bachelor's degree in health and physical education.
