Entering his third season on the staff is linebackers coach is Logan Williams. Williams is in his second stint at Shepherd. He served as an assistant coach under Monte Cater from 2013-15. 
 
In 2023, Williams helped lead the Rams to another playoff berth after a 9-2 regular season.  Ram linebacker Harold O’Neal earned second team All-PSAC East honors.
 
In 2022, Williams assisted in coaching five first team All-PSAC East defenders in Kyle Smith, Malik Holloway, Dewayne Grantham, Keyshawn Hailey and Klayton Batten. Shepherd posted a 13-2 overall mark as the PSAC East and Super Region One Champions.  
 
Prior to returning to Shepherd University, Williams spent the 2020 COVID season and the 2021 season serving as defensive coordinator at Concord University. The Mountain Lions won their only game played in the 2020 season.
 
In 2019, Williams served as the defensive coordinator at West Virginia Wesleyan College. Williams coached four All-Mountain East Conference selections.
 
Williams spent the 2018 season at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland as the defensive llne coach and NFL liaison. The Bears were one of the best defensive fronts in the Mid-Eastern Atlantic Conference (MEAC) during the 2018 season. In 2018, Morgan State ranked first in the MEAC in sacks and was third in rushing defense. Williams coached All-MEAC Defensive Player of the Year Ian McBurrough and All-American Rico Kennedy. 
 
Williams spent 2016-2017 at West Virginia University serving as a Defensive Graduate assistant, working with the defensive line and linebackers.  He assisted in recruiting and developing multiple P5/BIG VII Defensive Players of the Year in David Long and Darius Stills.
 
In 2015, Williams worked with the linebackers as WVU’s defensive quality control coach. Williams assisted in coaching All-American and future NFL players in linebacker Nick Kwiatkowski, All-Big 12 LB Jared Barber, and Cactus Bowl MVP Shaq Petteway.
 
In 2013, Williams began his college coaching career under Josh Kline at Shepherd. Kline and his staff were able to accomplish unprecedented success during that time.  The Shepherd defense was among the national leader in numerous statistical categories. The succes led to Kline being awarded as the National Assistant Coach of the Year honors.
 
Prior to beginning his coaching career in the collegiate ranks, Williams honorably served over 10 years in the U.S. Navy. During his service in the armed forces, Williams executed multiple deployments in service of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iron Dome, and Operation Odyssey Dawn.
 
Williams resides near Shepherdstown with his wife, Stacy (Shepherd '09), and his children Grant, Leilani, and Jackson.
