Entering his second season on the Shepherd staff as a graduate assistant is Matt Klier. Klier is the star/outside linebackers coach.
In 2021 Klier coached the running backs. Ram running back Ronnie Brown rushed 106 times for 956 yards an eight touchdowns and added 23 receptions for 549 yards and five scores en route to gaining first team 2021 All-PSAC East accolades.
Klier came to Shepherd after working as a defensive intern at the University of Minnesota . He reported directly to the defensive coordinator. His duties included numerous scouting report research and breakdowns while working primarily with the defensive backs.
He previously worked as an assistant at Marshwood High School in Maine. He worked with film and scouting and coached in many facets for the youth teams.
Klier served as a student assistant at the College of Holy Cross from 2017-19. He did extensive work on the scouting reports and video breakdowns for the Crusaders.
Klier graduated with honors from Holy Cross in 2019. He gained a bachelor's degree in Economics.
