Returning to Shepherd for his fourth season is Mike Icenhower. Icenhower is returning as Assistant Quarterbacks Coach.
Icenhower spent the 2024 season as the tight ends coach at Gettysburg College. The Bullets averaged 25.7 points per game and scored over 30 points in four games with a season high of 61. The tight ends group helped pave the way for 2084 rushing yards and racked up 155 yards on 19 receptions.
In 2023 Shepherd quarterback Seth Morgan garnered All-American honors as he completed 239-of-364 passes for 2,970 yards and 24 touchdowns.
In his first year under head coach Ernie McCook and offensive coordinator Tyler Haines, Icenhower was able to help the Rams offense rank among the top offenses in the nation. Shepherd ranked fifth nationally in scoring offense with 41.1 points per game, second in total offense (489.3 yards per game), second in first downs offense (354), third in completion percentage (.699), and seventh in passing offense (312.5 yards per game). 
As a student assistant in 2018 Icenhower served under offensive line coach Hussam Ouri.  They helped Shepherd average 4.0 yards a carry, 133.6 yards a game and score 18 rushing touchdowns. The team finished 7-3 in their last year in the Mountain East Conference.
Prior to Shepherd, Icenhower was mentored by the winningest coach in the state of Maryland in Bob Milloy, when he served as an assistant coach at Our Lady of Good Counsel High School in Olney, Maryland.
Icenhower graduated from Shepherd in 2019 with a degree in recreation and leisure studies with a concentration in athletic coaching.
