Ed Dolan

Entering his fourth season as head coach of the Shepherd men’s golf team is Ed Dolan. Dolan has an extensive golf background as he also serves as the PGA Professional at Locust Hill Golf Course in Charles Town after previously working as PGA Director of Instruction at National Golf Club in Fort Washington, Maryland.

Dolan gained MEC Coach of the Year honors in 2015-16 as he led Shepherd to its first conference title. Additionally, Shepherd's Ryan Crabtree was named MEC Men's Golf Player of the Year, while Joey Burkinshaw and Brandon Dang also garnered All-MEC honors.
He served as head coach at The Salisbury School from 2004-10. He was chosen as Eastern Shore Independent Athletic Conference (ESIAC) Coach of the Year in 2010. Dolan was voted the # 1 Teacher in the State of Maryland by Golf Digest in 2005-06 and was ranked among the ”Best In State” by Golf Digest from 2007-11.
Dolan also served as an adjunct professor at Salisbury University and University of Maryland-Eastern Shore (UMES) where he taught golf to a variety of skill levels and experience. He was instrumental in establishing and developing the UMES Golf Academy.
A PGA professional with 20 years experience, Dolan has served as a teaching professional at Nutters Crossing Golf Club in Salisbury, Maryland and Clay-Kizer Golf Complex in Austin, Texas. He also had stints as a professional at Hartefield National in Avondale, Pennsylvania, and as director of instruction at Mountain Branch Golf Course in Joppa, Maryland.
Dolan earned his bachelor’s degree for Greensboro College in 1991. He gained Class A membership from the PGA in 1996.
