Prior to Shepherd: A 2022 graduate of Cocalico High School where he played golf for Chip Kappesser ... lettered in golf and basketball ... the Lancaster Lebanon League Section 3 scoring leader with average of 75.3 ... earned fourth place medalist for two-year in Lancaster Lebanon League playoffs ... a three-time District 3 Qualifier  ...  gained All League all-star honors ... a three-year varsity basketball player ... was a two-time second team All-Section and LL League All-Star selection.

Personal: The son of Angie and John Rios ... majoring in data analytics ... his father, John, played basketball at Temple (1995-97) ... his uncle, Mike Rios, played basketball at Niagara (1987-89).
