Alex Jones

Alex Jones enters his fifth season as head men’s soccer coach at Shepherd University since taking over the head coaching duties for the 2017 season. Additionally, Jones is the head strength and conditioning coach for the Shepherd Athletic Department.

Jones rejoined the Rams in 2016 as an assistant men’s soccer coach and also assisted with strength and conditioning for several athletic teams.

A native from Fairfax, Virginia, Jones graduated from Shepherd in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in recreation and leisure studies with a concentration in fitness and exercise science. He added a master’s degree in exercise science with a concentration in performance enhancement and injury prevention from California University of Pennsylvania in 2017.

A four-year player for the Rams, Jones helped lead Shepherd to a 12-6-0 overall mark with a 7-2-0 record in conference play as a senior starter in 2010. The seven conference wins are the most in program history.
