Nathan Cooper

Entering his second season as a graduate assistant coach with the Shepherd men's and women's tennis programs is Nathan Cooper. Cooper joined the staff in August 202.

In his first season with the program, Cooper led the women’s program to a fourth place finish in the PSAC with a 7-8 record, the best record that the program has seen in recent years. Cooper is also responsible for the addition of two international female players whom are joining the program this year. 

In his first season with the men’s program Cooper helped lead the Rams to a 5-9 overall record. Freshman Sebastian Sevilla earned PSAC Freshman of the Year while representing the Rams for his first ever semester of college tennis. Cooper recruited two international players in 2021 and has three international arrivals joining the program for the 2022-23 season. This is the first time in history the program has international players.

Cooper played collegiate tennis at the Division II level, playing for Lincoln Memorial University in Tennessee in which he graduated from in May 2021. Cooper graduated with a magma cum laude in business administration with a concentration in marketing. 

Cooper hails from the United Kingdom, as a junior player, he was ranked as high as number 20 in the United Kingdom, represented his state for every age group, was the Under 18 regional doubles champion and competed on the men's national tour. 

Cooper is pursuing an MBA degree at Shepherd and slated to graduate in May 2023.
