Bekah Slattery

Entering her third season on the softball coaching staff is Bekah Slattery. Slattery serves as pitching coach and assists in all aspects of the program. 

The Rams posted a 26-14 overall record with a 14-5 mark in PSAC action in 2021. Shepherd made its sixth overall NCAA II regional appearance. Shepherd had six All-PSAC selections with Nicole Purtell and Cameron Davis each earning first team honors. Purtell (Second Team NFCA and Honorable Mention D2CCA) and Davis (Third Team D2CCA) also gained All-American accolades.

Shepherd posted a 4-6 overall mark in a season shortened due to the coronavirus outbreak in 2020.

Slattery was a Lock Haven University standout from 2015-19.  A four-year starter in the circle for the Bald Eagles, she collected 856 career strikeouts.  The 856 mark puts her second in Lock Haven history, only behind Hall-of-Famer Kristen Erb, and 6th in PSAC history. 

In her senior season Slattery helped lead the Eagles to their first PSAC Championship in 10 years and received a birth to the NCAA Tournament.  The PSAC Tournament MVP finished the year with a 1.49 ERA and 21 wins, leading the PSAC in both categories. 

Slattery was also recognized as the PSAC Central Pitcher of the Year, National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-American, Atlantic Region Pitcher of the Year, and NFCA Atlantic Region First Team. Slattery was named the D2CCA Atlantic Region Pitcher of the Year and she earned First Team D2CCA Atlantic Region honors. She also earned third team D2CCA All-American honors.
     
Slattery was also a standout in the classroom. She was named to the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-America Division II Softball Team and the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District Team. 

Slattery is a graduate of Lock Haven with a bachelor’s degree in sport administration (2018) and a master’s degree in sport science (2019).
