Brittany Batts

Entering her third season as an assistant coach with the Shepherd women's basketball program is Brittany Batts. Batts came to Shepherd prior to the 2018-19 season after spending the 2017-18 season as an assistant at Bridgewater College.

Shepherd rebounded from an 11-18 record in 2018-19 to post a 21-9 mark in 2019-20 in its first season of competition in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference. Additionally, three Rams gained All-PSAC East honors as Abby Beeman and Sydney Clayton each gained first team honors, while Marley McLaughlin earned second team selection. Beeman was also named PSAC East Freshman of the Year.

Batts helped lead the Bridgewater to a 13-13 overall mark with an 8-8 record in conference play. She helped guide junior guard Brianna Moore to All-ODAC second team honors for the Eagles after averaging 16.5 points and 6.2 rebounds.

Prior to coaching at Bridgewater,  Batts served as a graduate assistant at Castleton University in Vermont from 2015-17. The Spartans posted a 38-21 mark over those two seasons. Batts assisted with guard development, recruiting, scouting, film exchange, and alumni outreach.

Batts is a 2015 graduate of Gannon University where she majored in sports management with a minor in advertising communication. She was a four -year player and three-year starter for the Lady Knights from 2011-15. Batts averaged 9.2 points over her career and finished with over 1,000 career points. She set a school single-season record with 102 three-pointers, while her 286 career three-pointers rank her second on the all-time list.

Batts helped lead the Lady Knights to a 102-record and four NCAA postseason appearances, including an Elite Eight appearance in 2012-13. She was a three-time PSAC Scholar-Athlete, a second team All-PSAC West Division choice, and a first team Academic All-District selection at Gannon.

A native of Loudoun County, Virginia, Batts is Loudoun County High School's all-time leading scorer with 2,039 points. She was a three-time All-Region and two-time All-State selection for the Raiders.
