    Head Women's Soccer Coach

Sam Odell enters his first season as the head coach of the Shepherd women’s soccer program after being named the head coach in April 2021.

Odell spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach for the Rams and was the interim head coach during the spring season. 

A native of Walton-on-Thames, England, Odell is a 2018 graduate of Caldwell College where he was a four-year member of the men’s soccer team from 2014-17 and served as a team captain. He gained All-Conference honors as a defender. and was named to the CACC All-Tournament Team in 2015 and 2016. 

Odell has an extensive coaching background with several years of club level experience with both boys and girls teams. 

Odell holds numerous coaching qualifications including an Advanced National Diploma (United Soccer Coaches), ISPAS Level 1 Accreditation (International Society of Performance Analysis of Sport),  Goalkeeper Level 1 Diploma (United Soccer Coaches),  and Futsal Level 1 Diploma (United Soccer Coaches). 

He also holds a USSF D License (United States Soccer Federation). He is currently pursuing Sports Performance Diploma (United Soccer Coaches) and expected to complete the requirement in May 2021.  

Odell earned a bachelor’s degree in sports management from Caldwell in 2018 and graduated with an MBA from Shepherd in 2021.
