Ben Nichols enters his first season as an assistant for the Shepherd volleyball program.
Nichols is a 2010 graduate of George Mason University where he played volleyball for three years as an outside hitter and middle. He served as a team captain for the Patriots. Nichols also played for two seasons at Long Beach State.
Nichols brings a stong understanding of the game as both a player and a coach. Â
He gained Chicago Sun-Times First Team All-State and Chicago Tribune Second Team All-State honors. He was a three-time All-Conference and two-time All-Area selection. Additionally, he led is team to the state final and was named to the 2004 Illinois All-Tournament Team
