Prior to Shepherd:  A 2014 graduate of El Camino High School where she played volleyball for Mani Santos... lettered four years in volleyball and two each in softball and track... a three-time team captain in volleyball and a two-time team captain in track... gained First Team All-League honors in both volleyball and track... a two-time Team MVP in volleyball and track... named Field Athlete of the Year as a senior... holds school records for most assists in a season (241), most kills in a season (200), and most kills in a match (15)... a member of a pair of Mission Bay Tournament Champion volleyball teams.

Personal: The daughter of Sean and Shannon Helegsen... majoring in biology with a minor in psychology... her father, Sean Helgesen, participated in track and field at Utah State... her uncle, Eric Helgesen, played football at Bowling Green.
