Emily Goetz was hired as an Assistant Athletic Trainer for Shepherd University in June of 2025. Her primary sport assignments are football, cheerleading, and women’s lacrosse.
Goetz completed her graduate degree from Purdue University majoring in Athletic Training. During her time in West Lafayette, she worked primarily with Purdue football during their 2024-2025 season. She also had multiple rotations with other sports and populations such as Purdue women’s volleyball, high school basketball, softball, baseball, wrestling, and various physical therapy/general medical rotations. Along with the experience listed above, she also worked as a summer athletic training intern for the Jacksonville Jaguars for their 2024 preseason training camp.
She completed her undergraduate degree at The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. Graduating in 2023, she majored in Exercise Science, while also being a member of the women’s soccer team and serving as a captain for three seasons.
Goetz is a board-certified athletic trainer and licensed in West Virginia. She is also a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA), Great Lakes Athletic Trainers’ Association (GLATA), and Indiana Athletic Trainers’ Association (IATA). She is also a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT), holds her Graston Technique M1 Certification, QPR Suicide Prevention Certification, and CPR/AED/First Aid Certification.
Originally from Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, Emily enjoys spending time with friends and family, staying active, and reading. She is excited to get started at Shepherd and looking forward to a great first year!
