Madeline Beck enters her second year as an Assistant Athletic Trainer with the Sports Medicine Department at Shepherd University for the 2025–2026 academic year. In her first year, she played a key role in supporting Women’s Soccer and Softball through successful seasons, including a PSAC Conference Championship and an NCAA Elite Eight appearance for Women’s Soccer.
At Shepherd Beck helps provide the injury prevention, clinical evaluation and diagnosis of injury, immediate and emergency care, treatment and rehabilitation, and overall well-being of Shepherds 380+ student-athletes. Her primary sporting assignments involve working with the men and women’s soccer and softball teams on campus.
A native of Berkeley County and graduate of Musselman High School, Beck brings a strong connection to the Eastern Panhandle community. She earned both her bachelor’s and master's degrees in athletic training from Marshall University, where she gained diverse clinical experience across high school, collegiate, and clinical settings. Her training included work with football, softball, soccer, and physical therapy/orthopedic clinics. She also completed an externship at Shepherd University in Spring 2024, working with multiple sports including basketball, football, women’s lacrosse, and baseball.
Beck is a nationally board-certified athletic trainer and holds licensure through the West Virginia Board of Physical Therapy. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA), Mid-Atlantic Athletic Trainers’ Association (MAATA), and the West Virginia Athletic Trainers’ Association (WVATA). She maintains Basic Life Support (CPR/AED) certification through both the American Red Cross and the American Heart Association and is a certified Performance Enhancement Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
Outside of her professional role, Madeline enjoys spending time with her family and her dog, Sable. She is an avid reader and always on the lookout for new book recommendations. She is passionate about providing comprehensive care to student-athletes both on and off the field.
