Shepherd Women's Lacrosse Tops Shorter

ROME, Ga. – Senior attacker Georgia Karr (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty had four goals and two assists, while senior attacker/midfielder Kelsey Eagan (Baltimore, Md./Sparrows Point) added four goals to lead Shepherd University to a 19-9 win over Shorter University in women's lacrosse action at Ben Brady Field on Wednesday night.

Junior attacker Hunter Morris (Severna Park, Md./Severn School) and sophomore attacker Brooke Hunley (Monrovia, Md./Linganore) each added three goals, while junior midfielder Erin Phelan (Thurmont, Md./Catoctin) contributed a pair of goals.

Sophomore midfielder Haley Price (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty), junior midfielder Teresa Lang (Severn, Md./Archbishop Spalding), and freshman midfielder Courtney Matthews (Monrovia, Md./Urbana) each contributed a goal.

Crystal Marshall had four goals to lead Shorter. Shelby Beverly added two goals and a pair of assists for the Hawks.

Junior goalkeeper Savannah Shores (Trappe, Md./Easton) (4)  and senior netminder Lily Schmulowitz (Baltimore, Md./Catonsville) (1) combined for five saves for the Rams, while Nicole Kube posted nine saves for the Hawks.

Shepherd had a 31-17 edge in shots and a 27-25 edge in ground balls. The Rams had a 17-13 edge in draw controls.

Shepherd improves to 3-2, while Shorter is now 3-4. The Rams return to action on Sunday when they host Chestnut Hill College for an 11 a.m. contest.
