Box Score 2 SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University swept West Virginia Wesleyan in MEC baseball doubleheader action at Fairfax Field on Wednesday. The Rams recorded a 15-0 win in game one and added a 16-0 victory in the nightcap. The Rams had 32 hits on the day.
Shepherd took a 3-0 lead in the first inning in game one behind an RBI-double by senior first baseman

The Rams added eight runs in the second to take control of the game. Sophomore outfielder
Jonathan Sarty (Purcellville, Va./Woodgrove/William & Mary) had a two-run single and redshirt-freshman designated hitter
Daniel Heleine (Hedgesville, W.Va./Hedgesville/WVU) smacked a three-run double to key the rally.
Wyshinski went 4-for-4 with four RBI and two runs scored to lead the Rams. Sophomore outfielder
Jacob Carney (Stephens City, Va./Sherando) added a 3-for-4 effort with a pair of runs scored, while Sarty, Heleine, and senior third baseman
Bryce Shemer (Potomac, Md./Winston Churchill/Colorado Mesa) each added a pair of hits. Shemer belted a two-run blast in the fourth.
Michael Logsdon had a pair of hits for the Bobcats.
Junior starter
Sam Crater (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern York/Frederick CC) (4.0 IP, 3 H, 6 Ks, 2 BB) picked up the shutout win to improve to 4-1.Junior reliever
Brody Heflin (Damascus, Md./Damascus) (3.0 IP, 2 H, 1 K, 2 BB) notched the save. Wesleyan starter Chris Hall took the loss.
The Rams plated eight runs in the first in the nightcap en route to the sweep. Wyshinski had a three-run double and Shemer added a two-run triple to highlight the inning.

Matt Wilson (Baltimore, Md./Archbishop Curley/Essex CC), senior second baseman
Zane Bard (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg), Sarty, and Shemer each had a pair of hits for the Rams.
Freshman third baseman
Chase Hoffman (Middletown, Md./Middletown) launched a two-run homer in the sixth.
James Fraser and Kelly Machuca each had a pair of hits for the Bobcats
Senior starter
Brian Martin (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) (4.0 IP, 4 H, 3 Ks, 0 BB) picked up the win to improve to 2-0. Chris Denno took the loss for the Bobcats.
Shepherd improves to 16-2, 16-2 in conference play, while West Virginia Wesleyan falls to 3-8, 2-8. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to Wheeling Jesuit for a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
