Box Score 2 WHEELING, W.Va. – Shepherd University swept Wheeling Jesuit in MEC baseball doubleheader action at Wheeling on Sunday. The Rams recorded a 17-0 win in game one and added a 4-2 triumph in the nightcap. Shepherd runs its winning streak to 15 games with the sweep.
Senior catcher
Spencer Wolfe (Huntingtown, Md./Huntingtown/USC Aiken) had a 4-for-5 effort with four RBI and three runs scored to lead the Rams in game one. He had a pair of doubles and a home run.
Sophomore outfielder
Jonathan Sarty (Purcellville, Va./Woodgrove/William & Mary) added a 3-for-3 effort with a homer and three RBI. Junior shortstop
Tre Porter (Stephens City, Va./Sherando/Potomac State) belted a two-run blast and drove in three runs.
Junior starter
Sam Crater (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern York/Frederick CC) (6.0 IP, 2 H, 3 Ks, 2 BB) picked up the shutout win to improve to 5-1. Antonio Acierno took the loss for the Cardinals.
Wolfe hit a three-run blast in the third inning to lift the Rams to a 4-2 win in the nightcap.

Jamie Driver (Broad Run, Va./Kettle Run) (6.0 IP, 2 H, 2 ER, 2 Ks, 3 BB) picked up the win for the Rams, while senior
Brian Martin (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) (1.0 IP, 1 K, 0 BB) tossed hitless, scoreless ball in the last inning to gain the save.
Shepherd improves to 18-2, 18-2 in conference play, while Wheeling Jesuit falls to 6-11, 5-7. The two teams return to action on Monday for a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
