SHEPHERD MEN'S TENNIS BLANKS UVA-WISE

WISE, Va. – Shepherd University handed UVa-Wise a 9-0 defeat in MEC men's tennis action at UVa-Wise on Sunday.

Freshman Austin Thomas (Charles Town, W.Va./Washington) posted a 6-1, 6-0 victory at number five singles and teamed with sophomore Will Wheatley (Charles Town, W.Va./Washington) for an 8-1 win at number three doubles to lead the Rams.

Shepherd improves to 7-7 overall, 2-1 in conference action, while UVa-Wise falls to 3-7, 1-3. The Rams return to action on Monday when they travel to Concord for a noon match.
