ATHENS, W. Va. – Concord edged Shepherd University, 5-4, in MEC men's tennis action at Concord on Monday.

The Rams got singles wins from junior Lewis Charette (Ripon, Ga./Pike County) and sophomore Will Wheatley (Charles Town, W.Va./Washington).

Senior Steve Kolumban (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) teamed with senior Steven Lesko (Mt. Airy, Md./Linganore) for a 9-8 win at number one doubles, while Wheatley and freshman Austin Thomas (Charles Town, W.Va./Washington) posted an 8-5 win at number three doubles.

Shepherd falls to 7-8 overall, 2-2 in conference action, while Concord improves to 4-3, 3-2. The Rams return to action on April 6 when they host Hood College for a 3 p.m. match.
