Box Score 2 SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Shepherd University split with Shippensburg in baseball doubleheader action at Shippensburg on Tuesday. The Rams recorded an 8-0 win in game one, while Shippensburg earned the split with a 14-8 victory in the nightcap.

Tre Porter (Stephens City, Va./Sherando/Potomac State) went 2-for-4 with three RBI and a two-run homer to lead the Rams.
Junior pitcher
Sam Crater (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern York/Frederick CC) helped his own cause with a 1-for-3 effort with a pair of RBI.
Crater (5.0 IP, 4 H, 5 Ks, 0 BB) picked up the shutout win to improve to 9-2. He got relief help from junior reliever
Brody Heflin (Damascus, Md./Damascus) (2.0 IP, 1 H, 1 K, 1 BB). Shippensburg starter Rich Michaud 3.0 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 1 ER, 2 Ks, 0 BB) (4-5) took the loss.
Shippensburg plated eight runs in the third inning to pull away in the nightcap. Cody Ezolt hit a grand slam to key the rally.
Dalton Hoiles hit a three-run homer and Jimmy Spanos added a 4-for-4 effort for the Red Raiders.

Jacob Carney (Stephens City, Va./Sherando) recorded a 4-for-4 performance with a pair of runs scored and freshman third baseman
Chase Hoffman (Middletown, Md./Middletown) went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer to lead Shepherd.

Austin Guy (Leonardtown, Md./St.Mary's Ryken/Wheeling Jesuit) (2.0 IP, 6 H 6 ER, 0 K, 2 BB) (1-1) took the loss.Gabe Mosser (2.0 IP 1 H,0 R, 1 K, 1 BB) (6-1) earned the win for Shippensburg.
Shepherd moves to 28-10, while Shippensburg is now 23-21. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Urbana for a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
