HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Sixth-seeded Shepherd University dropped a 5-1 decision to third-seeded West Virginia Wesleyan in quarterfinal action of the MEC Women's Tennis Tournament at the Brian David Fox Tennis Center on Friday.

Shepherd's lone win came at number two doubles where junior Molly Lovern (Bluefield, W.Va./Bluefield) and freshman Zoe Nicewander (Bluefield, W.Va./Bluefield) teamed up for a 9-7 triumph.

West Virginia Wesleyan advances to face second-seeded Charleston on Saturday.
