Rachel Sefton (Berryville, Va./Clarke County) at the 5:01 mark to lift Shepherd University to a 1-0 victory over Concordia University (NY) at Shepherd on Saturday afternoon
Shepherd had a 14-7 edge in shot attempts and a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Sophomores
Kelsey Rhoderick (Frederick, Md./Governor Thomas Johnson) (4) and
Christi LaBella (Ijamsville, Md./Oakdale) (2) combined for a total of six saves in goal for the Rams to combine for a shutout. Stephanie Wilcyzinski had five saves for the Clippers.
Shepherd improves to 1-0 in the season, while Concordia (NY) falls to 0-1.
The Rams return to action on Tuesday when they host conference foe Notre Dame (Ohio) for a 12:00 p.m. contest.
