INSTITUTE, W.Va. – Shepherd University (15-4, 4-2 MEC) gained a 3-0 (25-18, 25-12, 25-12 MEC) win over West Virginia State (11-9, 3-3 MEC) in MEC volleyball action at West Virginia State on Friday night.
Sophomore outside hitter Peyton Lindblad (Spotsylvania, Va./Riverbend) had 10 kills, while sophomore outside hitter Cambriea Hill (Columbia, Md./Hammond) added nine kills, six digs, and five aces. Senior middle hitter Christine Jackson (Stafford, Va./North Stafford) posted seven kills in 11 attempts for a .636 attack percentage.
Sophomore setter Jessica Karcz (Westminster, Md./Westminster) recorded 25 assists and 14 digs, while sophomore libero Imani Major (Gainesville, Va./Millbrook) also posted 14 digs.
Mallory Rennard had six kills for Yellow Jackets. Allison Tumey added five kills, while Tabi Pontius had 17 assists and 10 digs.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to Charleston for a 2 p.m. match.
