URBANA, Ohio – Senior defender/midfielder Danielle Fernandez (Clarksburg, Md./Damascus) scored on an assist from freshman defender Katherine Eddy (Charleston, W.Va./George Washington) at the 33:42 mark to give Shepherd (1-2-1, 1-1-1 MEC) a 1-0 win over Urbana (1-4-0, 1-3-0 MEC) in MEC women's soccer action at Urbana on Thursday.
 
Junior netminder Christi LaBella (Ijamsville, Md./Oakdale) recorded three saves in a shutout effort for the Rams, while Katherine Beech recorded three saves for the Blue Knights.

Shepherd had a 16-10 advantage in shots and a 3-2 edge in corner kicks.
 
The Rams return to action on Sunday when they host the University of Charleston at 3:30 p.m. for RAACE Day.
