#25 Wheeling Jesuit Downs Shepherd Men’s Soccer

WHEELING, W.Va. –  Teavon Spencer recorded a hat trick to lead #25 Wheeling Jesuit (8-2-2, 7-2-0 MEC) to a 4-0 win over Shepherd University (1-12-0, 0-10-0 MEC) in MEC men's soccer action at Wheeling Jesuit on Wednesday night.

Wheeling Jesuit took a 1-0 advantage when Spencer scored on a header off a corner kick at the 11:07 mark.

The Cardinals took a 2-0 lead when Martin Minuzzi scored on a free kick at the 13:32 mark.

Spencer added a second goal on a feed from Dylan Schraffenberge at the 37:34 mark to give the Cardinals a 3-0 lead at the break.

Wheeling Jesuit added a second-half goal when Spencer found the back of the net on a pass from Pedro Crespo at the 63:02 mark.

Freshman goalkeeper Michael Lemay (Martinsburg, W.Va./Martinsburg) recorded eight saves for the Rams. Jonathan Bosmyr posted three saves for the Cardinals.

Wheeling Jesuit had a 25-7 advantage in shots and an 8-2 edge in corner kicks.

The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to Dominican College for a 2 p.m. match.
