WISE, Va. – Shepherd University (18-5, 7-2 MEC) posted a 25-15, 25-14, 25-11 victory over UVa-Wise (4-18, 1-7 MEC) in MEC volleyball action at UVa-Wise on Saturday. The Rams posted their ninth straight win. The nine consecutive victories tie the program record established in 2001.
Junior outside hitter
Peyton Lindblad (Spotsylvania, Va./Riverbend) had eight kills, while freshman middle hitter
Georgia Ohmke (Falls Church, Va./Justice)added seven and freshman middle hitter
Olivia Waszak (Saint Johns, Mich./Saint Johns) had six to lead the Rams against the Cavaliers.
Senior setter
Becca Kern (Martinsburg, W.Va./Musselman) contributed 32 assists and five aces, while junior libero
Imani Major (Gainesville, Va./Millbrook) had 13 digs.
Kyra Jessee had six kills and 11 digs to lead UVa-Wise. Morgan Milligan added 12 digs.
The Rams return to action on Tuesday when they host West Liberty at 7 p.m.
