SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University (19-5, 7-2 MEC) rallied for a 19-25, 27-25, 25-18, 21-25, 15-4 victory over West Liberty (18-7, 7-3 MEC) in MEC volleyball action at the Butcher Center on Tuesday night. The Rams posted their 10th straight win to eclipse the program record of nine set in 2001.
Junior outside hitter Peyton Lindblad (Spotsylvania, Va./Riverbend) led the Rams with 19 kills. Junior outside hitter Cambriea Hill (Columbia, Md./Hammond) and sophomore middle hitter Nicole Murray (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) each added 13 kills. Hill also had 13 digs and four aces.
Senior setter Becca Kern (Martinsburg, W.Va./Musselman) contributed 47 assists and 12 digs, while junior libero Imani Major (Gainesville, Va./Millbrook) had 16 digs.
Kailee Cunningham had 17 kills and 13 digs to pace the Hilltoppers. Stephanie Leonard added 22 kills, while Jo Lyn Jurek had a match-high 24 digs.
Imani Major served nine consecutive points in a 9-0 run for the Rams in the fifth set to help the Rams take a 12-3 lead en route to the win. Major had three aces during the run.
The Rams return to action on Friday when they host Wheeling Jesuit at 7 p.m.
