SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Jacqueline Ziegler scored a pair of goals to lead Holy Family (10-3-1) to a 3-1 win over Shepherd (4-7-3) women's soccer action at Shepherd on Tuesday afternoon.
Holy Family took a 1-0 lead when Ziegler scored on a feed from Hannah Derby at the 7:08 mark.
The Chargers took a 2-0 lead into the break when Bree Rock scored on a pass from Alyssa Christiansen at the 26:37 mark.
Holy Family upped its lead to 3-0 when Ziegler scored at the 59:55 mark on an assist from Alexa Teschko.
Freshman defender Madison Michael (Myersville, Md./Middletown) scored on a pass from sophomore midfielder Maddy McClellan (Harpers Ferry, W.Va./Washington) at the 74:07 mark for the Rams.
Freshman goalkeepers Lulu Fricks (Alexandria, Va./Hayfield) (3), Meghan Byers (Clear Spring, Md./Clear Spring) (1), and Caylin Clingan (Myersville, Md./Middletown) (4) combined for eight saves for the Rams. Briana Pudlo had four saves for the Chargers.
Holy Family had a 19-6 advantage in shots and a 3-1 edge in corner kicks.
The Rams return to action on Thursday when they travel to Notre Dame for a 3 p.m. contest.
