SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – Junior forward/midfielder Brogan Pifer (Charles Town, W.Va./Washington) scored on an assist from freshman defender Alyssa Nazarok (Northfield, N.J./Mainland) at the 82:33 mark to lift Shepherd (5-7-3, 4-3-3 MEC) to a 1-0 win over Notre Dame (7-5-1, 7-2-1 MEC) to a 3-1 win over in MEC women's soccer action at Notre Dame on Thursday afternoon.
Freshmen goalkeepers Lulu Fricks (Alexandria, Va./Hayfield) (1) and Meghan Byers (Clear Spring, Md./Clear Spring) (1) combined for two saves in a shutout effort for the Rams. Kyra McDowell had one save for the Falcons.
Notre Dame had an 11-2 advantage in shots and a 4-0 edge in corner kicks.
The Rams return to action on Sunday when they host West Liberty for a 2:30 p.m. contest.
