SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Jack Osborne recorded a hat trick to lead West Liberty (4-9-1, 4-8-1 MEC) to a 3-0 win over Shepherd (1-15-0, 0-12-0 MEC) in MEC men's soccer action at Shepherd on Sunday.
Osborne scored on a pass from Chaz Rodeheaver at the 11:14 mark to give the Hilltoppers a 1-0 lead.
West Liberty took a 2-0 advantage into the break as Osborne scored on a penalty kick at the 41:42 mark.
Osborne added a second-half tally on a pass from Carlos Mora at the 58:19 mark.
Freshman goalkeeper Jose Machado Orrellana (Falls Church, Va./J.E.B. Stuart) recorded 10 saves for the Rams.
Florian Dupuis (4 saves) and Stephen Schlegel (0) combined on the shutout for the Hilltoppers.
West Liberty had a 23-11 advantage in shots and a 7-1 edge in corner kicks.
The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they host University of Charleston for a 2:30 p.m. match.
