Charleston Edges Shepherd Women’s Soccer

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Keira Hill scored a pair of goals to lead Charleston (9-7-1, 8-3-1 MEC) to a 2-1 win over Shepherd (5-8-4, 4-4-4 MEC) in MEC women's soccer action at Shepherd on Wednesday.

Hill scored on a pass from Roberta Pomi at the 59:24 mark to give the Golden Eagles a 1-0 lead.

Charleston took a 2-0 advantage when Hill scored on a feed from Alana Mikulis at the 69:39 mark.

Freshman forward Darien Ball (Charleston, W. Va./George Washington) scored her sixth goal of the season on a feed from junior forward/midfielder Brogan Pifer (Charles Town, W.Va./Washington) for the Rams at the 78:53 mark.

Freshmen goalkeepers Lulu Fricks (Alexandria, Va./Hayfield) (12) and Meghan Byers (Clear Spring, Md./Clear Spring) (3) combined for 15 saves for the Rams. Carol Burgess had three saves for the Golden Eagles.
 
Charleston had a 31-4 edge in shots and held a 4-0 edge in corner kicks.
 
The Rams return to action on Sunday when they travel to West Virginia Wesleyan for a 3:30 p.m. contest.
