SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University (20-9, 9-5 MEC) handed Fairmont State (11-16, 5-9 MEC) a 3-0 setback (25-13, 25-23, 28-26) in MEC volleyball action at the Butcher Center on Tuesday night.
Junior outside hitter
Peyton Lindblad (Spotsylvania, Va./Riverbend) had 14 kills, while junior outside hitter
Cambriea Hill (Columbia, Md./Hammond) and sophomore middle hitter
Nicole Murray (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) each added 10 to pace the Rams.
Senior setter
Becca Kern (Martinsburg, W.Va./Musselman) contributed 39 assists and 10 digs. Junior libero
Imani Major (Gainesville, Va./Millbrook) topped the Rams with 11 digs.
Michaela Levings had eight kills and Rebecca Feeney added seven for the Fighting Falcons. Kelsey Moeller added 15 assists and seven digs.
Shepherd rallied from a 20-16 deficit to take the second set, 25-23. The third and deciding set featured 12 ties and 13 lead changes.
The Rams return to action on Friday when they host West Virginia Wesleyan at 7 p.m.
