SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University (21-9, 10-5 MEC) handed West Virginia Wesleyan (7-20, 5-10 MEC) a 3-0 setback (25-15, 25-15, 25-16) in MEC volleyball action at the Butcher Center on Friday night.
Junior outside hitter Peyton Lindblad (Spotsylvania, Va./Riverbend) led the Rams with 11 kills and a .500 attack percentage. She also added a match-high three aces. Sophomore middle hitter Nicole Murray (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) added eight kills, while junior outside hitter Cambriea Hill (Columbia, Md./Hammond) had seven.
Senior setter Becca Kern (Martinsburg, W.Va./Musselman) contributed 30 assists and junior libero Imani Major (Gainesville, Va./Millbrook) topped the Rams with 10 digs. Freshman outside hitter Alex Farnsworth (Las Vegas, Nev./Liberty) had nine digs.
Ebonie Hicks had seven kills, while Lauryn Antolock and Olivia Lundy each added five to pace the Bobcats. Hannah Bradford contributed 10 digs.
Shepherd took an 8-0 lead in the first set en route to a 25-15 win. The Rams did not trail at any point in the match.
The Rams wrap up regular season play on Saturday when they host Glenville State at 1 p.m.
