WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Shepherd University (16-5) recorded a 25-22, 25-13, 14-25, 23-25, 15-11 victory over West Chester (17-4) in volleyball action at West Chester on Tuesday evening.
Junior outside hitter Peyton Lindblad (Spotsylvania, Va./Riverbend) recorded 18 kills and junior outside hitter Cambriea Hill (Columbia, Md./Hammond) added 16 to lead the Rams. Hill also added 12 digs. Junior outside hitter Seone Goode (Fredericksburg, Va./Riverbend) chipped in with 13 kills and 10 digs.
Senior setter Becca Kern (Martinsburg, W.Va./Musselman) contributed 49 assists, while junior libero Imani Major (Gainesville, Va./Millbrook) had a match-high 21 digs. Freshman middle hitter Georgia Ohmke (Falls Church, Va./Justice) had 11 block assists on the night.
Julia Vreeswyk had 18 kills and Allie Duffy added 12 for the Golden Rams. Jillian Grammer added seven kills, 43 assists, and 12 digs.
Shepherd jumped out to a 7-4 lead in the final set and held on for a 15-11 win. The Rams did not trail in the deciding set.
The Rams return to action on Friday when they travel to Concord for a 7 p.m. match.
