Shepherd Volleyball Goes 2-0 at PSAC-MEC Crossover

INSTITUTE, W.Va. – Shepherd University (4-1) won a pair of matches in volleyball action at the PSAC-MEC Crossover on Friday at West Virginia State.  The Rams posted a 25-23, 25-18, 25-20 victory over Mercyhurst (1-4) in an early match and added a 24-26, 25-22, 25-18, 25-20 win over Slippery Rock (1-1) in a later contest.

Junior outside hitter Peyton Lindblad (Spotsylvania, Va./Riverbend) and junior outside hitter Cambriea Hill (Columbia, Md./Hammond), and each recorded 10 kills to pace the Rams against Mercyhurst. Hill also added 13 digs.

Junior libero Imani Major (Gainesville, Va./Millbrook) topped the Rams with 21 digs, while sophomore libero Milleysha Molina-Otero (Fairfax, Va./Chantilly) had 10 digs. Junior setter Jessica Karcz (Westminster, Md./Westminster) contributed 29 assists.

Junior libero Imani Major (Gainesville, Va./Millbrook) posted 16 digs, while junior outside hitter Cambriea Hill (Columbia, Md./Hammond) added seven kills and nine kills.

Claire Kenny had 18 assists and 10 digs to lead the Lakers.

Lindblad had 22 kills and Hill added 13 in the triumph over Slippery Rock. Senior setter Becca Kern (Martinsburg, W.Va./Musselman) had 35 assists.

Major led the Rams with 26 digs. Hill added 12, while freshman outside hitter Alex Farnsworth (Las Vegas, Nev./Liberty) contributed 11.

Shayla Ray and Gabby Huck each had 10 kills for The Rock.

The Rams return to action on Saturday in final day action of the PSAC-MEC Crossover. Shepherd will face Kutztown at 10 a.m. and Shippensburg at 4 p.m.
