AMHERST, N.Y. – Daemen College (3-3-0) handed Shepherd University (1-4-0) a 2-0 setback in women's soccer action at Daemen on Wednesday afternoon.
Jamie Boyar scored on a pass from Celia de Pablo Esteban at the 24:27 mark to give the Wildcats a 1-0 advantage at the break.
The Wildcats added a second-half tally as Sarah Kenny found the back of the net on a feed from Kayleigh Daniels at the 69:23 mark.
Freshman goalkeeper Lulu Fricks (Alexandria, Va./Hayfield) (2) and classmate Meghan Byers (Clear Spring, Md./Clear Spring) (6) combined for eight saves for the Rams. Katelin White had a pair of saves for the Wildcats.
Daemen had a 31-4 advantage in shots and a 7-0 edge in corner kicks.
The Rams return to action on Sunday when they travel to Washington Adventist for a 6 p.m. match.
