Shepherd Women's Soccer Blanks Washington Adventist

TAKOMA PARK, Md. -- Shepherd University (2-4-0) handed host Washington Adventist (4-2-0) a 3-0 setback in women's soccer action at Washington Adventist on Sunday evening.

Shepherd took a 1-0 lead when sophomore defender Katherine Eddy (Charleston, W.Va./George Washington) scored on an assist from junior forward/midfielder Brogan Pifer (Charles Town, W.Va./Washington) at the 36:30 mark.

The Rams took a 2-0 advantage into the break when freshman forward Darien Ball (Charleston, W. Va./George Washington) found the back of the net on a feed from freshman midfielder/forward Kenzie Sarber (Smithsburg, Md./Smithsburg) at the 42:59 mark.

Freshman forward Alyssa Lester (Bluefield, W.Va./Bluefield) completed the scoring when she scored on a pass from sophomore midfielder Emma Barnardoni (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville) at the 70:07 mark.

Freshmen goalkeepers Lulu Fricks (Alexandria, Va./Hayfield) (0 saves) , Meghan Byers (Clear Spring, Md./Clear Spring) (1), and freshman goalkeeper Caylin Clingan (Myersville, Md./Middletown) (0) combined on the shutout effort  for the Rams. Laura Perez had 10 saves for The Shock.

Shepherd had a 17-2 advantage in shots and a 1-0 edge in corner kicks.

The Rams return to action on Thursday when they travel to Charleston for a 1 p.m. match.
