Shepherd Women’s Soccer Edged by Charleston

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Alana Mikulis scored on a pass from Roberta Pomi at the 67:53 mark to lift University of Charleston (3-4-0, 2-1-0 MEC) to a 1-0 win over Shepherd University (2-5-0,1-2-0  MEC) in MEC women's soccer action at Charleston on Thursday afternoon.

Freshmen goalkeepers Lulu Fricks (Alexandria, Va./Hayfield) (4) and Meghan Byers (Clear Spring, Md./Clear Spring) (2) combined for six saves for the Rams. Kaylee Hensley and Carol Burgess did not record a save in goal for the Golden Eagles.

Charleston had a 17-0 advantage in shots and a 7-1 edge in corner kicks.

The Rams return to action next Wednesday when they host West Virginia Wesleyan for a noon match.
