SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Kutztown used a pair of second half goals to record a 2-0 win over Shepherd University in women's soccer action at Shepherd on Sunday afternoon.
The Golden Bears took a 1-0 lead when Kristina Miller scored on a an assist from Schyler Ackerman at the 51:26 mark.
Kutztown added an insurance goal when Emily Zwiercan added an unassisted tally at the 70:46 mark.
Freshman goalkeeper Lulu Fricks (Alexandria, Va./Hayfield)  (5) and classmate Meghan Byers (Clear Spring, Md./Clear Spring) (5) combined for 10 saves for the Rams. Imani Taylor posted a pair of saves for the Golden Bears.
Kutztown had a 24-3 advantage in shots and a 7-1 edge in corner kicks.
The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they host Glenville State for a noon contest.
