Shepherd Men’s Soccer Falls to #13 Notre Dame in Overtime

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. –  Arthur Favaro scored on a pass from Nicholas Felician in the 105th minute to lift 13th-ranked Notre Dame (6-2-0, 4-2-0 MEC) to a 1-0 win over Shepherd University (0-8-0, 0-6-0 MEC) in MEC men's soccer action at Shepherd on Sunday.

Freshman goalkeeper Jose Machado Orrellana (Falls Church, Va./J.E.B. Stuart), who leads NCAA II in saves, recorded 13 saves for the Rams. His save on a penalty kick by Favaro in the final minute of regulation forced overtime. Daniele DeAngelis had a pair of saves for the Falcons.

Notre Dame had a 33-4 advantage in shots and a 13-0 edge in corner kicks.

The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they host West Virginia Wesleyan for a 2:30 p.m. match.
