Robinson Leads Shepherd Men’s Soccer Past UPJ

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Freshman midfielder Shamar Robinson (Mount Vernon, NY/Mount Vernon) scored on a penalty kick at the 43:20 mark to lift Shepherd University (1-9-0) to a 1-0 win over Pitt-Johnstown (2-7-0) in men's soccer action at Shepherd on Sunday afternoon.

Freshmen goalkeepers Jose Machado Orrellana (Falls Church, Va./J.E.B. Stuart) (0 saves,17:46) and Michael Lemay (Martinsburg, W.Va./Martinsburg) (5 saves, 72:14) combined on a shutout effort for the Rams. Josh Zakrzewski had nine saves for the Mountain Cats.

Shepherd had a 14-8 advantage in shots and a 7-5 edge in corner kicks.

The Rams return to action on Thursday when they travel to Concord for a 3:30 p.m. match.
